70 Percent Of Republicans Believe Obama Will Be Remembered Among The Worst Presidents, Says New Poll

A comfortable majority of Republicans believe that history will not be kind to President Barack Obama, a new poll conducted by Zogby International shows.

The polling firm found that although 41 percent of Americans believe it is too soon to judge where Obama will stand in the pantheon of U.S. presidents, 70 percent of Republicans are already prepared to assign Obama to the bottom-third of all former Commander in Chiefs.

Conversely, 30 percent of Democrats believe Obama will be remembered among the top-third and 83 percent claim his predecessor George W. Bush will be ranked among the bottom.

The poll, which was conducted January 15-18th with the participation of 1,963 Americans, finds that Abraham Lincoln is ranked as the greatest U.S. president.

Overall totals show that 37 percent of Americans regardless of party believe Obama will be in the bottom third. 49 percent that believe Bush belongs in the bottom third as well.

Not surprised and Republicans are working as hard as they can to make sure it comes true... Whereas with Dubya all the Democrats had to do was sit back, do nothing (Which is the only thing they did do.) and allow him to achieve worst president on his own merits.

Of course they would. They'll be the ones bad-mouthing him then just as they are now. Ironically they'll be saying it to the children of people that told them the truth about how much of an obstacle they were to his every breath.

If he continues on the path he set the first year he will be in the top 5 for sure.

Well it would be very difficult to beat out Jimmy Carter. Obama has a brain and is as smart as Clinton but he is cocky where Clinton was street smart. Clinton new he had to make deals. Obama knows he's right so he can't in good conscious compromise his principles. By the way, Dubya will be reflected upon very well by history. Once his accomplishments are weighed against what he faced the judgement will be positive. Liberals always called Reagan the worst President ever while he was in office. People around the world protested him and his willingness to destroy the world with nuclear weapons. However, he knew what was right and stayed the course and the rest is history. He went from most hated to one of the most revered.

70%? Isn't that the same percent that believe in angels?

History has yet to speak.

The opinion polls during Lincoln's day, and his numerous political detractors, labeled him as the worst president ever. Half the country left the union, largely in response to his political platform! But today, according to this poll, Lincoln is remembered as the best president.

I'm not happy with everything Obama has or hasn't done--but it's too soon to ask how history will see him. Our children's children may have a very different take.

And 85% of middle class Democrates find him less interesting than Bill Maher!! The remaining 15% believe he's taking his lead from the gratitude and appreciation of the Republicans masters.
