Hoosier State Turns Red, Paul Wins Kentucky

The Associated Press is reporting that Republican Dan Coats has defeated Democrat Brad Ellsworth in the race for Evan Bayh’s (D) seat in the U.S. Senate. Coats led Ellsworth 55-39% with 11% of precincts in the state reporting.

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn congratulated Coats on his victory.

“Just two years after Indiana’s electoral votes went to President Obama, Hoosiers issued an unmistakable rebuke of the Democrats’ job-killing agenda of higher taxes, reckless spending, and massive debt in Washington. Dan Coats will fight tirelessly to get our country back on track and put Hoosiers back to work, and I look forward to working with him to help restore much-needed checks-and-balances in our nation’s capital.”

In Kentucky, Tea Party conservative Senate candidate Rand Paul (R) has defeated Democrat Jack Conway. Officials declared Paul the winner after he led Conway 55-45% with just 15% of precincts reporting…
