Bipartisanship Under GOP-Led House Contingent Upon President Obama

Should Republicans fulfill the prediction of most analysts by winning control of at least one House of Congress today, GOP lawmakers will try to work with President Barack Obama, said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) on Tuesday.

But…..

“Many Americans are wondering whether a Republican Congress can work with Obama. I sure hope that we can. But a lot depends on him,” Cornyn said in a GOTV email put out Tuesday morning.

Cornyn, who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Republicans will create gridlock in Washington if Obama aggressively pursues a “hard left agenda.”

“If the president doubles down on his hard left agenda, however, we will have no problem providing the checks and balances that our founders created.”
