Reid: Democrats Must Focus On Middle Class Because Republicans Won't

By Kyle LaFleur

According to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Republicans will not help middle class Americans.

“I think the main thing we’ve learned is that we are united in recognizing that we have to protect the middle class because obviously the Republicans aren’t doing that,” Reid said during a press conference Thursday.

“Republicans have spent the last four years ready to campaign but very reluctant to govern,” Reid noted. “Campaign season is over, it’s time they start working with us for a change.”

Reid attacked incoming Majority leader Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) for vowing to extend the tax cuts for all which he claimed would cost $4 trillion.

The top Senate Democrat went on to elaborate that job creation and protecting the Bush era tax cuts for the middle class would be the main factor in generating a stronger economy in the United States.  Reid was confident the Democrats had the backing of President Obama in ensuring the cuts were extended for these Americans.
