Military Intelligence Cost U.S. $27 Billion For 2010

While most details relating to military intelligence are kept strictly under wraps, there is one detail that has now been revealed for the first time: the price tag.

According to data released Thursday by the Defense Department, $27 billion was allocated for the Military Intelligence Program within fiscal year 2010.

A statement from the Pentagon says that the typically secret data does not jeopardize any classified activities, but notes that “no other MIP budget figures or program details will be released, as they remain classified for national security reasons.”

The new data coincides with an announcement from the Department of National Intelligence that their budget for the fiscal year was $53.1 billion.
