Issa Followers Tweet New NPR Show Titles
The top Republican on the House Oversight Committee had a little fun on Twitter this weekend at the expense of NPR.
In light of the radio network’s decision to fire host Juan Williams last week over remarks he made about Muslims, Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) asked his followers on the popular website to send him suggestions for new show titles.
Here is a smattering of what was suggested:
“Dancing with the Czars”
“Big Big Brother”
“Wheel of Misfortune”
“Lost: The Obama Presidency”
Issa also argued via Twitter that NPR should no longer receive taxpayer funds given the fact that billionaire philanthropist George Soros recently gave the network $1.8 million.
“I’d like to thank George Soros for his generous donation to @NPR. Now it clearly doesn’t need YOUR money anymore.”
Currently, the network, which many on the right have accused of possessing a liberal bias, generates roughly 15 percent of its budget from federal subsidies.
