Pentagon Will Comply With DADT Order

The Defense Department will comply with a federal judge in California’s order to cease Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, at least for the time being.

“The Department of Defense will of course obey the law,” according to a statement from Pentagon spokesperson Col. David Lapan. “The Department will abide by the terms in the court’s ruling, effective as of the time and date of the ruling.”

Lapan noted that an email was sent to legal officials in the field informing them of the ruling.

Although the White House is ultimately attempting to bring the controversial policy banning gays from openly serving in the military the administration  will likely attempt to counteract the judge’s ruling.
