Republican Win Spells More Than Just A Lost Senate Seat For Democrats, Says Boehner
By Antonia Aguilar-Talk Radio News Service/University of New Mexico
Senator-elect Scott Brown's electoral victory Tuesday night demonstrates that the Democratic party is losing support from the American People, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) claimed Friday.
”What we’ve learned in Massachusetts is this: Democrats aren't listening to the people,” said Boehner in a press briefing. Boehner issued a warning against the Democratic agenda as a whole, claiming that it no longer has the best interest of the American People at heart. According to the Ohio Republican, tax increases will undermine the middle class and the current financial trajectory will further add to the national debt.
Brown's emphasis on the need for a stronger approach to counter-terrorism was a significant factor in the race, Boehner added.
“Events like the attempted air line bombing on Christmas day should remind us that we are at war with dangerous extremists who will stop at nothing to kill Americans,” Boehner said.
