Obama Set To Allocate An Additional $1.35 Billion For Education Reform
President Barack Obama announced Tuesday an additional $1.35 billion for the administration’s education reform program “Race to the Top,” adding to one of the largest education reform efforts in history.
"This support will not only reaffirm our commitment to states engaged in serious reform, it will also expand the Race to the Top competition to include local school districts that are also committed to change," Obama said. So innovative districts ... will soon have the chance to earn funding to help them pursue those reforms."
The president made his announcement at the Graham Road Elementary School in Fairfax County, Virginia.
