Democratic Lt. Gov Association Plans On Being More Politically Active

By Courtney Costello

The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) reportedly has a plan to beef up its political effectiveness.

Chairman Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter (Ark.) announced during a conference call with reporters Thursday that the DLGA plans to promote stronger candidates for lieutenant governor positions as well as provide training and background information for the next generation of Democratic leaders.

Halter stated that the organization is pushing this initiative due in large part to four DLGA members becoming state governors in the past year.

The DLGA also announced that it will be providing more support for its organization by creating a full time staff as well as hiring a political consulting firm.
