Russian UN Ambassador Vitaly I. Churkin discusses upcoming Security Council meeting on Middle East
Assuming Presidency of the Security Council this month, Ambassador Churkin highlighted several key meetings that will take place on May 11 to discuss peace negotiations in the Middle East.
When prompted by Talk Radio News Service on the United Nations inquiry report and Israel's own interest in investigating the bombing of United Nations schools, the Ambassador said the Council received the report and will review the findings this coming week.
Churkin also hoped the meeting on May 27 on Georgia will re-emphasize the positive relationship between the two countries and strengthen the binding agreement in order to better stabilize the region. The Ambassador reported recent deployment of armed vehicles on the border.
