Change to win - Making Green Jobs Good Jobs

A new report was released today regarding the challenges of making green jobs into good jobs that sustain families and fuel economic recovery. Terence O'Sullivan, General President of the Laborers International Union of North America, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI.) and Congressman Jay Inslee (D-WA.) were a few of the speakers at a press conference about making green green jobs good jobs.

O'Sullivan explained that green jobs can boost our economy and put "prosperity into working people in this country".

O'Sullivan's opening speech discussed the importance of creating green jobs that will be profitable for workers. Green jobs will not only save our planet environmentally, it will also help America's economy in the long run. Senator Stabenow made a similar point and also emphasized the importance of investment in green jobs for the middle class in America. By providing more jobs with a sustainable background our economic and environmental situation will prosper.

Senator Stabenow also pointed out the importance of "making things in America that supports the green economy". She also discussed the fact that many green products are being produced outside America and the need to change that is essential.

Congressman Inslee spoke about the human ability and described it as the only actual renewable source in the world. By not underestimating human ability and intelligence, America's development in creating green jobs can be successful. he said. Congressman Inslee also highlighted the middle class workers and their right to be prioritized, when it comes to the opportunity for green jobs.
