UN Russian mission talks on building peace in Georgia

Talk Radio News sits down with Mr. Ruslan Bakhtin, First Secretary and Spokesperson for the Russian Federation at the United Nations. He underscores his government's strategy for cooperation with the Georgian government and an end to the recent conflict in the region. The Secretary-General's report was presented to the Security Council today highlighting the situation in Abkhazia, Georgia in particular.  Talks are presumed to underscore a need to extend the United Nations monitoring mission in Georgia. Abkhaz separatists groups have called for agreements only when UN Security Council members acknowledge Abkhazia's right to independence.
