Today At TRNS

TRNS will be participating in the Senate Republican Radio Row.

The Washington Bureau will be covering:

-A Full Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee hearing on "Safeguarding the American Dream: Prospects for Our Economic Future and Proposals to Secure It," focusing on S.1056, the "SAFE Commission Act," and S.2853, the "Bipartisan Task Force for Responsible Fiscal Action Act of 2009."

-Representative Raul Grijalva, (D-Ariz.), holds a briefing to discuss "the use of antibiotics in animals used for food consumption and the public effects of industrial farming."

-A Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; Subcommittee on Contracting Oversight holds a hearing on "Afghanistan Contracts: An Overview."

-Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl, (R-Ariz).; Senate Environment and Public Works Committee ranking Republican Sen. James Inhofe, (R-Okla.); Sen. Lisa Murkowski, (R-Alaska); Sen. Lindsey Graham, (R-S.C.); Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander, (R-Tenn).; Sen. John Barrasso, (R-Wyo.); and Sen. Sam Brownback, (R-Kan.), hold a news conference to highlight the Obama administration's "attempt to circumvent Congress by imposing a backdoor climate tax endangering job creation, endanger economic recovery and endanger American competitiveness."

-The Center for American Progress (CAP) holds a conference call briefing, addressing racial health disparities.

-The National Council of La Raza holds a conference call, to discuss immigration reform to "learn about the contents of the Gutierrez bill and other legislative developments, plans for action in 2010, and how you can be part of the movement for just and humane comprehensive immigration reform."

-Senators Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), and Robert Casey (D-Penn.) hold a press conference on domestic economic issues in the Defense Appropriations bill.
