The Washington, D.C. Bureau will be covering the following events:

-The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) holds a presentation to release and discuss the ISW's second report on Afghanistan, "Securing Helmand: Understanding and Responding to the Enemy."

-The International Spy Museum holds the launch of "Weapons of Mass Disruption," a gallery on cyber security, that shows how "a team of cyber spies and saboteurs with armed weapons no more sophisticated than common laptops, can turn power lines into battle lines."

-The Security for a New Century 111th Congress holds a discussion on "Iran: Post-Election Crisis and Future Implications."

-The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessment President Andrew Krepinevich holds an online briefing, beginning at 10 a.m., on "U.S. Nuclear Forces: Meeting the Challenge of a Proliferated World."

-The Christian Defense Coalition holds an event to erect a 100-foot image of the number 71, which represents the "percentage of people in a national Zogby poll that oppose taxpayer funded abortions."

-A Joint Economic Committee full committee hearing on the employment situation for September.

-The Woodrow Wilson Center (WWC) hosts a discussion on "Engaging China in New Energy Cooperation."

-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell along with GOP Leadership holds a news conference to discuss the Democrats' trillion dollar partisan health care proposal.

-Rep. Joe Courtney's holds a conference call to discuss a letter he wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi opposing a healthcare excise tax.
