Sierra Club Launches Youth Outreach Campaign For Virginia Election

Evironmental conservation organization the Sierra Club held a conference call Tuesday morning discussing its youth outreach campaign in Virginia, titled "Keep Change Alive," which aims to make young people's voices heard in the state's upcoming election on November 3rd.
"Our goal with this campaign is to engage, motivate and turn out those voters to keep change alive and follow through with the momentum of the 2008 elections into 2009 and beyond," said Cathy Duvall, Political Director of the Sierra Club.
Duvall went on to say that she hoped the Sierra Club's reputation will help draw in younger voters.
"We ... know that young voters care passionately about environmental issues and believe in the need to elect leaders who share those values...our name brand is strong among young voters, who consistently rank environmental issues at the top of their concerns," Duvall said.
The campaign includes a comprehensive website, www.keepchangealiveva.com, that will highlight the differences between the state's candidates, provide logistics and basic information on how to register to vote, and analyses of issues.
