Bureau Chief Ellen Ratner will be covering a statement by President Bush at the White House today and Legal Affairs Correspondent Jay Tamboli will be at the Supreme Court.
This morning, the Washington Bureau will be attending a discussion on “Religious Voters in the 2008 Presidential Election: Findings from the Recent National Survey of 3,002 Respondents,” as well as the American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) 2008 Membership Conference with Executive Director Anthony Romero. The Bureau will also attend The National Federation of Independent Business’s 2008 National Small Business Summit with AARP CEO Bill Novelli and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore) delivering remarks.
Later today, the Bureau will attend a discussion on “The War on Terror: An Exhange About Censorship, Surveillance and Guantanamo”. The National Press Club Newsmaker Luncheon Program will host an address by Assistant Housing and Urban Development Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner Brian Montgomery. Also, the Bureau will cover an American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) discussion on "Will Polar Bear Protection Mean Ever-Higher Energy Costs?", and an American Red Cross briefing addressing the American Red Cross' capacity to respond to hurricanes and provide updates on Red Cross preparation for the 2008 hurricane season.
