Today at Talk Radio News

Today at the Washington Bureau, Chief United Nations Correspondent Dan Patterson and Correspondent Dawn Jones remain in Iowa covering the floods. News Director Lovisa Frost will be covering the White House. Chief Pentagon Correspondent Meredith MacKenzie will be attending the public wake for deceased Washington Bureau Chief and Moderator of "Meet the Press" Tim Russert.

Staff will cover a full committee hearing on "the origins of aggressive interrogation techniques: Part I of the Committee's inquiry into the treatment of detainees in U.S. Custody," along with a full committee hearing on the challenges and regional solutions to developing transmission for renewable electricity resources. The Bureau will also cover a news conference to announce a "major new initiative to address global warming" with Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas), Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), and Rep. Christopher Van Hollen (D-Md.). Staff will attend the full committee hearing on "Crisis in the Future: Long Run Deficits and Debt" with Congressional Budget Office Director Peter Orszag, along with a full committee hearing on "Protecting Consumers by Protecting Intellectual Property."

Later in the day, the Bureau will attend hearing on "International Disaster Assistance: Policy Options" hosted by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and a full committee hearing on "Ensuring Legal Redress for American Victims of State-Sponsored Terrorism" hosted by the House Judiciary Committee. Staff will also attend a discussion on "Has the Effect of Foreclosures on Housing Prices Been Overstated?" hosted by The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI).
