Today's Events

This morning the Talk Radio News Service's Legal Affairs Correspondent Jay Tamboli will be attending House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s (D-MD) weekly pen and pad press briefing. News Correspondent Dawn Jones will be covering a House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing on "Rising Diesel Fuel Costs in the Trucking Industry." Pentagon Correspondent Meredith MacKenzie will be covering a press briefing at the Pentagon and White House Correspondent Lovisa Frost will covering the White House gaggle and briefings.

The TRNS Washington Bureau will be covering a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on "The Resilient Homeland - Broadening the Homeland Security Strategy." Also, the Bureau will cover a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing on "The Renewable Fuels Standard: Issues, Implementation, and Opportunities” with Rep. Stephanie Herseth (D-SD). The Bureau will be attending a Social Security Subcommittee hearing on "Employment Eligibility Verification Systems and the Potential Impacts on the Social Security Administration's Serve Retirees, People with Disabilities, and Workers."

Later in the day, the Washington Bureau will be attending an Aviation Subcommittee hearing on "Aviation and the Environment: Emissions," and an Environmental and Energy Study Institute briefing on "Can Renewable Energy Meet the Urgent Challenge of Climate Change?" Also this afternoon, the Washington Bureau will covering a Nursing Economic discussion on the results of “landmark national surveys that have implications for every American seeking healthcare in the future, especially in light of upcoming national elections and the candidates' proposed healthcare reforms.”
