N.M. Senators Push For Increased Funding For Nuclear Waste Cleanup

In a letter to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water, Sens. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) asked for more funding for New Mexico’s Water Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad and the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) “fence-to-fence” cleanup, ensuring that radioactive material is properly and safely disposed of.
