LGBT families "part of the crowd" at White House Easter Egg Roll

Cathy Renna, the Managing Partner at Renna Communications and a member of the Family Equality Council said that this is the first time in history that LGBT families be recognized, invited and given tickets to the historical White House Egg Roll. Renna said that today they "felt part of the crowd." Renna also said that it was nice to be part of a diverse fabric of American families. (00:56)

Hope for the LGBT community

Cathy Renna, the Managing Partner at Renna Communications and a member of the Family Equality Council said that being recognized and invited to the historical White House Easter Egg Roll was thrilling and said it represents a shift both symbolically and hopefully in a policy way. LGBT families celebrate at the White House Easter Egg Roll

Today some 30,000 people attended the 2009 White House Egg Roll and it was the first time the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trasngender (LGBT) community had been recognized, invited and given tickets to this historic event. Jennifer Chrisler, the Executive Director of the Family Equality Council talks about her excitement to have a president that affirms the LGBT families as families and how it helps with hurdles they face because they are not recognized under the law.
