Clinton says she will end Bush's assault on unions

At the CWA Conference, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) says we’ve got to start creating jobs in America that can sustain the middle class. I'm offering real solutions not just speeches. When I say solutions, she says, I am talking about ending George Bush's assault on unions, and finally having a department of labor that is "pro labor." (:42)

Clinton says she will remember she works for the people

At the CWA Conference, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) says it's time now that the American people have a president that gets up every day in the White House and thinks about what needs to be done to improve the incomes, jobs, health care, and education of the American people. A president, she says, that rolls up her sleeves and goes to work every day for the people. One who remembers that the American people are the ones they work for, not the special interests or the "cronies." From my perspective, we need a Commander in Chief that is ready on day one to end the war in Iraq and bring our sons and daughters home as quickly and safely as possible. (:51)

Clinton says we're fighting for the very future of America

At the CWA Conference, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) says we need unions in the hard times, too. Because "you know what it's like to fight for the underdog." You know what it's like to stand up and keep going against the odds, and you know what it's like to be told to go away and quit, and so do I. We're fighting for the very future of America. It's not a cause for the fainthearted, and it's not a cause for those who get discouraged by a little criticism. We're going to take back our country, she says, and we're going to put it back on the right track to have the kind of future America deserves. (:57)

Clinton says she will not squash the union bug

At the CWA Conference, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) says that for the last seven years we've had a President and Vice President that want to squash the union "bug," and they're not trying to work with the unions. They've increased funding, she says, that goes towards harassing unions but cutting funding that goes towards worker health and safety. You would think that after the disasters we've had, that would be an easy sell, but they want to privatize any job they can. Make no mistake about it, this privatizing, outsourcing, no-bid contract binge we've been on is contest America more and when I'm President, I'm going to end it. (1:10)
