Special Census May Be Needed In 2012 Says Civil Rights Advocate
Wade Henderson, President of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, says in addition to ensuring a fair and accurate 2010 census count, Congress should look into conducting a special census in 2012 or 2013. Henderson argues that a special census would benefit Gulf states that may experience a slow population increase over the next few years due to the return of ex-residents who left following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2004. 2010 Census will Cost Double 2000 Census
