Secretary General Ban Ki Moon’s special envoy to Libya,  Abdul Ilah Al-Khatib, says the country’s opposition group —The Transitional National Council — is willing to accept a ceasefire agreement with the Gaddafi regime provided they receive certain guarantees from Tripoli.

Libyan Opposition To Meet With Gaddafi Government On Friday

Secretary General Ban Ki Moon tells the UN Security Council his envoy to Libya will take part in a meeting between Libyan government officials and opposition representatives tomorrow in Addis Ababa, in the hopes of reaching a political solution to the crisis and agreeing to the implementation of a ceasefire.
