Panetta: No Blank Check For The Pentagon

During his swearing-in ceremony Friday, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta noted that the Defense Department does not have a “blank check” from the American people. Panetta, who served as the chairman of the House Budget Committee during the Clinton administration, also pledged to manage the Pentagon in a fiscally conscious manner while simultaneously ensuring the safety of the country.
