Oil Spill Resources And Claims Fair Scheduled For Today Biloxi, Mississippi

By: Lynn Ryan TRNS Gulf Coast Correspondent

An Oil Spill Resources and Claims Fair will be held today at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi. The fair is being funded by a grant from BP, local non-profits, and businesses working together to address needs of the community due to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster.

The fair will provide information on how to apply for food stamps, job training, and access to health services. People attending the fair will also have access to on-site health screenings, mental health, employment, Small Business Administration (SBA) loan programs, social services, and many other local, state, and federal programs.

There will be briefings regarding the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Disaster as to the impact on the environment and economy and continuous clean up efforts.

The sponsors are expecting a very large number of people to attend the fair today. Due to the expected number of people participating in today’s event the sponsors will be providing entertainment and crafts for children so the adults can focus on claims and access to community resources.
