BP Unprepared To Handle Claims On Their Own, Hiring Subcontractors, Says Thad Allen
Admiral Thad Allen, the National Incident Commander for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, told reporters Tuesday that BP is unprepared to handle claims on their own.
“Working claims is not something that’s part of BP’s organizational competency or capacity and they're relying on subcontractors,” Allen said during a briefing at the Department of Homeland Security. “It’s our responsibility to make sure that’s being done effectively.” (0:11)
