Energy Expert Supports Loans For New, Efficient Cars
Lisa Margonelli, director of the New America Foundation's Energy Initiative, explains that if $5-$10 billion dollars per year were taken from oil subsidies and used to create low-interest loans for families to purchase energy efficient vehicles, families would save money on gas and the loan itself. Margonelli adds that the American automobile industry would be enhanced by the resulting higher demand for efficient vehicles. (0:36)
