Immigrants That Plot Terrorism Against Americans Sacrifice Rights Of Citizenship, Says Lieberman

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said Tuesday that naturalized citizens who participate in terrorism should not be given the rights of U.S. citizenship.

"If you have joined an enemy of the United States in attacking the U.S and trying to kill Americans, I think you've sacrificed your rights of citizenship," said Lieberman. (0:11)

As an immigrant myself, I was especially grateful to this country for making me their own by granting me citizenship with its accompanying privileges and opportunities to succeed. Life has not always been smooth in this country. I recently lost a ton of money in the housing crisis. But my misfortune has nothing to do with the country or its people. And my disagreements with some of the policies of the government don’t give me the right to go around butchering Americans. I swear allegiance to this country when I became a citizen. This is my home. Americans are my family. You don’t butcher your own family members because of differences in opinions! Unfortunately, people like Faisal place their loyalty only with their religion and the people who share their religion. Their actions demonstrate that they hate America, its people, its culture, and what we stand for. Their citizenship should be revoked and they should be sent back to wherever they came from so that they can live happily ever after (or miserably ever after) with people of the same value system like themselves. It’s about time we were more selective in who we let into this country and who we embrace as our own.
