Health Care Reform Slowing Rise Of Insurance Rates, Says Sen. Franken
Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) told reporters Friday that the rising cost of health care premiums does not mean that health care reform is not working.
“The purpose of this is to slow the growth. Premium rates are going to continue to go up, they are just not going to go up at the unsustainable pace they were,” Franken said. (0:49)

With health care costs rising in many different countries including even those that have socialized medicine, it can hardly be expected that health reform will do little more than slow the rate of increase in costs. To reduce costs, less people will have to become ill and that will require far more efforts in preventative medicine and a culture shift to living a healthier life style.
