Pro-Life Republican Not Comforted By Executive Order Against Abortion Funding
House Republicans claimed Sunday that pro-life members of Congress should continue to oppose health care reform legislation, despite the promise of an executive order from the White House to assure that no federal funds will go towards abortion.
Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), who co-sponsored the Stupak amendment when, stated that the executive order was an unacceptable compromise.
“I find absolutely no comfort in this executive order. This puts the fate of the unborn in the hands of the most pro-abortion president in history,” said Pitts. (0:11)
