Florida GOP'er Says Zelaya's Ignored Honduras's Laws
U.S. Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) says Honduran President Manuel Zelaya refused to listen to his nation's Supreme Court as well as its Congress. He says Zelaya is a man who tried to "undermine the legislature, the judiciary, the Attorney General" and many others, including his own party. Mack also says the illegal referendum ballots that he seized and distributed "had Hugo Chavez's fingerprints all over them." (0:39)

The world most definitely rushed to judgment regarding the removal of ex-President Zelaya. The man had disobeyed several Constitutional laws of Honduras, one which stated any official breaking the law of instituting a referendum such as he did, faces immediate removal from office. Honduras has no laws covering impeachment. Therefore, the Supreme Court removed him with an arrest warrant. He was sent to Costa Rica because officials feared violence and bloodshed and wanted to save their country from unnecessary outbreaks. There are 19 counts against Zelaya at the moment of various laws he broke and he will be arrested and tried upon his return. Despite the recent polls, 80% of the people are behind the government which followed Constitution protocal and replaced Zelaya with the next in line. The military is not in power and democracy continues in this country. Zelaya has the backing of Chavez, Ortega, Noriega the Castro - all Socialist countries. Hondurans want Democracy not Socialism and have lawfully removed the President - it was not a coup. It is too bad the world press cannot get this fact straight and stop referring to it as such. We, as foreigners living in Honduras (some for more than 25 years), have seen the press of Venezuela take over and print untruths which have been picked up as fact by the world. We also believe that President Obama has had poor advice and cannot understand why he takes the side of Chavez, Castro and Noriega wanting the return of Zelaya as President. This only enforces the side of Socialism and Honduras will not bend to that.
Several U.S. Senators have spoken out against the mistakes that have been printed in the past and urge the President to re-evaluate his stand. A petition is being signed urging the President to address this problem with the correct facts and to make note that Honduras was acting within the limits of their Constitution and not that of the U.S. We urge him to stop asking for the return of Zelaya. We have over 10,300 signatures and the petition is still going.
Sincerely,
Sharon Jones
Let's face it, your report is seriously flawed, hanging on the thin string of Constitutional denial of 'Term Limit' changes, while any grade-schooler would know this could easily be changed as all Constitution's provide.
What is also evident is that in this Constitutional procedure (at the time in process) the wealthy-elite embedded in the Supreme Court saw a very real possibility their opluent life-style was in danger, and usurping powers not within the Constitution (for this situation) had two Generals (graduates of Pentagon "School of the Assassins" of Ft Benning Georgia) depose the President of Honduras, compounding their crimes by flying the President out of the country.
So Honduras had a President that was leaning toward a nation similar to a number of SA-nations breaking away from World Bank/IMF, and the Western-Corp privitation, so these surrogates in Honduras took unlawful action, just before the gov was to meet on this issue with ballots tucked away by the military as preventive measure.
Most nations and Int'l-Organizations like UN and OAS have plainly denounced this 'Military-Coup', surprise, surprise. The wealthy-elite embedded in the Supreme Court apparently also realized Zelaya had the support and backing within government and citizens, otherwise these wealthy-elite would not have so brazenly usurped power, and used as excuse Constitutional articles that could; and most likely would have been amended.
Sharon, admit your a boot-licker, and join the rest of the world denouncing this "military-coup" which is a violation of the Honduras Constitution.
