Schumer: It Is Our Duty As Senators To Help Our Constituents 

Senator Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) reminds the public that it is his duty as a legislator "to help [his] constituency despite all the obstacles thrown in [their] path." (0:37)

Senator Schumer, I do not consider this health care bill to help me and the majority of Americans. Health care reform is indeed needed, but not at this time of economic crisis that the Senate helped to create. A government-run option is unacceptable in any form. I urge you to 'opt-out' when this bill comes to the floor for a vote. We can't afford it and we don't want it.
