Huntsman Daughters Vow To "Bring Huntsman Back" In New YouTube Video

GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman has not seen double digits in the polls for most of his campaign, but is now raking in supporters who have fallen from the Herman Cain train and the Rick Perry ferry.

Too much?

Perhaps a catchy tune from the Huntsman daughters will help soothe your distaste for my cheesy rhymes.

The Jon2012girls, as they call themselves, posted a cover of Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” with original lyrics on their YouTube account. The Huntsman girls label the GOP field (with the exception of dad, of course) a “circus act.”

Democrat Wary Of Iraqi Police Training Program

While discussing Iraq’s Police Development Program (PDP) at the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday, Ranking Member Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.) criticized U.S police forces for continuing Iraq development programs that he contends accomplish little.

“I’m just a little bit dismayed with this whole thing,” Ackerman told Deputy Assistant Secretary of State M. Brooke Darby about the PDP. “We’re going to screw this up again, aren’t we?”

The PDP is a $900 billion program meant to generate a stable and advanced Iraqi police force. Audits of the PDP, however, found that it was lacking a detailed goal, transparent funds and Iraq support.

While Darby assured Ackerman that she is committed to efficiently using the taxpayers’ money, she was unable to provide a timeline of completion for this project.

“This is turning into what happens after a Bar Mitzvah or a Jewish wedding,” Ackerman deplored.  “It’s called a Jewish goodbye. Everyone keeps saying goodbye but no one leaves.”

“If we don’t know how long it is going to take,” Ackerman continued, “I am going to stop paying the tuition when my kid is in his 19th year of college.”

US troops are scheduled to withdraw from Iraq by the end of the calendar year, which is less than a month away.

House GOP: Senate Snubbing Jobs Bills

By Tim Young

Republican leaders continued to criticize Senate Democrats Wednesday for their apparent refusal to vote on legislation passed in the lower chamber.

“The House has [passed] 20 bills that would help create a better environment for job creation in this country and they are sitting in the United States Senate,” said Boehner, who was accompanied by fellow House Republicans Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), John Kline (R-MN) and Kristi Noem (R-SD).

Boehner, who called on the Senate to consider all of the current legislation, said that three more bills would be passed this week with bipartisan support, similar to the previous 20.

Agreeing with the Speaker, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said that by the end of this week, the House of Representatives will have passed 25 bills which would encourage job creation that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) “refuses to take up.”

Boehner was asked if he would potentially switch up his approach after criticism from Senate Republican Lindsey Graham (SC) who stated, “Fifteen bills coming from the House that no one ever heard of — including me — is probably not the best marketing plan.”

Boehner replied to this, insisting that his current plan will create jobs and that House Republicans “will continue to do the right thing for the American people.”

White House Applauds Turkey For Syrian Sanctions

The White House applauded Turkey Wednesday for their decision to apply sanctions against the Assad regime in Syria.

“The leadership shown by Turkey in response to the brutality and violation of the fundamental rights of the Syrian people will isolate the Assad regime and send a strong message to Assad and his circle that their actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Tommy Vietor, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, said in a statement.

House Passes Bill Lifting Per-Country Visa Quotas

By Andrea Salazar

By a 389-15 vote, the House passed legislation Tuesday night removing per-country quotas on employment-based visas for high-skilled immigrants.

As it stands now, any given foreign nation has access to no more than 7 percent of the visas the United States issues. Supporters say this bill would help manufacturers by removing that cap and making visas available to high-skilled immigrants around the world.

The bill now goes to the Senate where Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), who chairs an immigration subcommittee within the Senate Judiciary Committee, praised the passage of the bill as “a harbinger for progress on other immigration issues.”

“This will remove outdated constraints that prevent us from attracting the kind of innovators who can create job growth in America,” Schumer said. “We will move the bill as quickly as possible in the Senate, where we expect it to find overwhelming support.”
