About the Program
An internship at the Talk Radio News Service is a hands-on experience, where interns are treated as staff members. It is an opportunity to learn writing, reporting and digital editing for live on-air radio work. This internship involvess quite a bit of work, but you will leave with examples of your on-air and written work.
Interns with the Talk Radio News Service participate in the following activities and tasks:
- Attending daily news briefings, press conferences and hearings on and around Capitol Hill.
- Gathering and writing news for broadcast on the Talk Radio News Service distribution network.
- Using social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to share brief news alerts with followers and fans of the Talk Radio News Service.
- Shooting, editing and producing audio and video news packages for the web.
The Talk Radio News Service Internship is an excellent way to get a foot in the door in Washington, gain tremendous real-world media experience and to discover how political life ‘Inside the Beltway’ is really lived.
