Now that the debt limit fiasco has calmed, President Barack Obama will hit the road in August on a bus tour criss-crossing the Midwest.
The plan behind tackling the Midwest gives the President a chance to reassure the public in key battleground states that he remains committed to to creating jobs and growing the economy.
In his remarks in the Rose Garden Tuesday, Obama reminded Congress that “growing the economy isn’t just about cutting spending.”
“That’s not how we’re going to get past this recession,” Obama during a statement that marked the passage of. “We’re going to have to do more than that.”
Obama’s Midwest tour kicks off on August 15 but destinations have not yet been scheduled.
