Sen. James Inhofe (R-Ok) told TRNS Wednesday that he believes the White House’s rush to raise the debt limit is tinged with partisan politics.
“The effort by the administration is to try to have this huge thing done and have it big enough that he doesn’t have to raise the debt limit again before the 2012 election, it’s all politically driven,” Inhofe said following a meeting with the Senate Republican Policy Committee.
The White House has warned that if the debt limit is not raised within the coming weeks, the U.S. will face dire economic consequences.
