Doubt appears to be growing over President Barack Obama’s ability to handle economic issues.

According to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, 50 percent of likely voters believe the president is performing poorly on economic issues, a seven point hike from just two weeks ago.

In contrast, only 36 percent of Americans say that the President is doing a good or excellent job.

The survey, which polled 1,000 likely voters, was performed between July 26th and 27th, but was released the same day as the Spring GDP numbers. The Commerce Department reported Friday that the nation’s economy grew less than expected, rising by only 1.3 percent.
