The Congressional Budget Office released its score of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) deficit reduction bill early Wednesday, revealing that it cuts nearly three times as much as House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) measure.
In its report, the CBO indicated that Reid’s plan would cut $2.2 trillion through 2021, $500 billion short of the original $2.7 trillion. Though it falls short of its initial estimate, Reid’s proposal still trumps Boehner’s, cutting $1.3 trillion more.
