House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sent a letter to the House Ethics Committee formally requesting an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Rep. David Wu (D-Ark.).

Pelosi asked Ethics Committee Chairman Jo Bonner and Ethics Committee Ranking Member Linda Sanchez to begin investigating the situation. Her letter reads:

Dear Chairman Bonner and Ranking Member Sanchez:

Recent press reports and statements attributed to our colleague, Representative David Wu, indicate that he may have engaged in inappropriate activities.

An investigation by the Ethics Committee to determine if the Rules of the House of Representatives have been violated is warranted.

Best regards,

Nancy Pelosi

Democratic Leader
