Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn became the newest Democrat in the United States House of Representatives after prevailing over her Republican opponent, Craig Huey, in Tuesday’s special runoff election.
With all precincts reporting, Hahn raked in nearly 55 percent of the vote, besting Huey’s 45 percent.
Hahn now replaces former Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) who left the House earlier this year to head the Woodrow Wilson Center.
