Casey Anthony Verdict Prompts "Caylee's Law" Campaign

One week after Casey Anthony was found not guilty, over one million Americans have signed a petition in support of “Caylee’s Law,” which would make it a state crime if a parent fails to report a missing child within 24 hours of their disappearence.

“Caylee’s Law,” named after Casey Anthony’s deceased young daughter, has already been proposed in 18 state legislatures. The petition was initiated by Michelle Crowder, a mother from Oklahoma. Change.org, a grassroots activist group that promotes social and economic reforms, is bringing attention to the petition, by posting it on their website.
