President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will be holding separate meetings with the Senate party leaders at the White House next Monday to discuss ongoing deficit negotiations.
The meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will take place Monday morning and the second with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will be held that evening.
The meetings come amid growing tension within the negotiations. On Thursday, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) pulled out of the talks.
