64 percent of Pakistanis disapprove of the U.S. strike against terrorist leader Osama bin Laden’s compound, according to a new Gallup poll.
41 percent of those surveyed said that Osama bin Laden should have been captured by U.S. forces, but not killed. 22 percent responded that he should not have been captured or killed.
A vast majority, 85 percent, expressed concern that the military action was carried out without the consent or knowledge of the Pakistani government.
The poll was conducted between May 9-12th among 1,000 Pakistanis from across the entire country. It comes amid increasingly strained relations between the U.S. and Pakistan, with some lawmakers suggesting that the U.S. should reevaluate giving aid.
