Libertarian hero Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) will announce on television tomorrow that he will run for the Republican presidential nomination next year.
Paul tweeted this morning that he’ll make a “major announcement tomorrow morning on Good Morning America in the 7:00 hour.” The move means that Paul will try to build upon the success he had as a candidate in 2008.
Paul will join a growing field that includes former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), former Governors Mitt Romney (Mass.), Tim Pawlenty (Minn.) and Gary Johnson (N.M.), former Senator Rick Santorum (Pa.) and business executive-turned-radio host Herman Cain.
Some suspect that by running again, Paul is angling to be appointed Treasury Secretary in a GOP administration.
