Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) will be the new chair of the Democratic National Committee, according to Politico.

Wasserman Schultz will be replacing former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, who announced Tuesday that he intends to run for Senate.

The Florida Democrat, who joined the House in 2005, reportedly beat out former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland for the position.
