Giffords Will Attend Endeavour Launch, Recovery Impresses

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) will be at the Kennedy Space Center Friday to watch the final launch of the space shuttle Endeavour, which will be make its final trip to the International Space Station under the command of her husband, Captain Mark Kelly.

Giffords, who was shot in head at a Tucson town hall in January, has continued to impress doctors with the pace of her recovery. Reports indicate that the Arizona Democrat will watch the launch from a secluded area, separate from the thousands expected to attend, including President Obama and the First Family. 

New insight into her recovery from the Arizon Republic shows Giffords is having trouble commanding her motor skills on her right side. Giffords is also making strides in her speech patterns but remains limited to one to two-word sentences.
