President Barack Obama is traveling to Chicago Thursday afternoon for a series of DNC fundraisers.
The President, who served as the junior Senator from Illinois from 2005-2008, will speak at Chicago restaurants N9NE and MK, as well as an event at the city’s Navy Pier.
His stop in the city carries additional significance in light of the President’s announcement to officially run in 2012. The campaign will be headquartered in Chicago and the next years’ political operation is slowly forming.
He will stay in the city overnight.
