A former female aide to Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) has filed a lawsuit against the Congressman for alleged improprieties he took while the two worked together.
The suit, announced on Monday by the conservative group Judicial Watch, alleges that Hastings, who serves as co-chairman of the Helsinki Commission, an independent government agency tasked with promoting human rights abroad, made “unwelcome sexual advances [and] crude sexual comments,” toward the staffer, Ms. Winsome Packer.
Furthermore, Packer, who served as a policy advisor on the commission, claims that she was subject to “unwelcome touching” by Hastings.
