Environmental organization Greenpeace is coordinating a series of candlelight vigils across the country Monday to recognize the Japanese people following this month’s series of disasters and “imagine a world free of nuclear disasters.”
The date of the vigils, March 28th, falls on the anniversary of the partial metldown at the Three Mile Island nuclear facility in 1979.
The gatherings will take place in front of the White House in Washington, D.C., in New York’s Central Park and at over 160 other locations.
